A camp supported by the Lakeside Chamber and their Touch A Truck Event

* Must be 16 years or older

During the camp you will have the opportunity to explore the following careers

Equipment Operator

Welder

Mechanic

driver

other entry level careers

College is not for everyone.

The concrete industry offers high paying career opportunities that do not require a degree.

This camp will include:
  • Equipment Operator Simulator Training
  • Job Shadows
  • Hands-on Work Based Learning
  • One-on-one time with Local Training Instructors
  • Mock Interviews

We will provide you with the tools for exploring your career pathway.

If you are curious about what is required to be an equipment operator, welder, mechanic, or driver this camp is for you.

* Must be 16 years or older

Day 1
  • Monday July 15th, 2024
  • 8 am - 1 pm PT
  • Associated General Contractors (AGC) Apprenticeship Program Lakeside Location
  • Training and time on the equipment operator simulators
  • Learn about all the AGC Apprenticeship Programs
  • Perform Hands On Construction Project
  • Lunch
Day 2
  • Tuesday July 16th, 2024
  • 8 am - 1 pm PT
  • Martin Marietta Mechanic Shop in Lakeside
  • Explore Welding and learn from the Palomar College Welding Program Instructor
  • Explore being a Diesel Mechanic and learn from a Miramar College Diesel Technology Instructor
  • Welding, mechanic and equipment operator job shadows.
  • Lunch
Day 3
  • Wednesday July 17th, 2024
  • 8 am - 2 pm PT
  • Verti-Block and Enniss Inc.
  • Learn more about entry level construction job opportunities
  • Explore Driver Positions
  • Additional hands-on and job shadows for mechanics and equipment operators
  • Meet hiring managers from local construction companies
  • Mock Interviews
  • Lunch
